STUART LAKE MEN’S SHED SOCIETY
CONSTITUTION

  • The name of Society is STUART LAKE MEN’S SHED SOCIETY
    ThepurposesoftheSocietyareasfollows:

-The Society is being incorporated for charitable, fraternal and social purposes.
-To establish a not for profit workshop facility and tool base for the common/shared use of members.
-Develop the venue and associated facilities to enable men of different life stages to share time together in a supportive environment.
-Provide opportunities to learn and improve skills through sharing expertise.
-Provide a supportive inter-generational training venue.
-Provide a support base for men of all ages to access for advice, help and information from a variety of agencies in the wider Community.


Code of Conduct

Stuart Lake Men’s Shed Society

Code of Conduct
No form of abuse, neglect, violence, anti-social behavior or infringement of the rights of others will be tolerated.

  1. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited in our Shed and anyone entering showing signs of having taken alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave.
  2. All members must respect the confidentiality of all members, whether present or not, and refrain from mentioning specific information which may cause embarrassment of any member.
  3. Members must accept that the Shed exists for the benefit of all members, irrespective of religion, political views, nationality, disability, age or race.
  4. Members of the Shed shall treat each other with fairness and consideration, showing regard for peoples’ feelings and respect for their contributions.
  5. Sheds work best when members work as a team. Every member should take responsibility for helping and supporting each other.
  6. Every member has a responsibility for Health and Safety. Every Member should see themselves as a safety officer.
  7. Differences can sometimes get personal or be hard to resolve for other reasons. Members should be prepared to recognize when this is happening. They should be ready to find fair ways of cooling things down through mediation or team building sessions, for the benefit of everybody. If no resolution can be found the Executive will decide how to resolve the issue in accordance with the procedures set out in the Constitution and Policies.
  8. No member of the Executive shall use their position of power for personal gain or wrongful treatment of others.

  9. Breaching the Code! Any person Breaching the Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the Shed and The Executive will make the decision as to whether the person/persons will be permitted to return to the Shed
