May 27

A small informal meet on Tues. May27 discussed a few items and planned future actions:
– We will send a delegation to District Council soon to present our case to obtain use of the former Legion building. It is the most suitable for the needs of this Men’s Shed and will present a sustainable use and service benefit to the entire community
-Discussion regarding the possible donation of a reefer truck van, it’s use and where it could be placed if received.
-Mentioned during the meet was the need to collect member information about their skill sets and willingness to do volunteer work, how the Men’s Shed will not perform work that competes with local businesses or tradespeople. Also discussed how a MS person skilled in that specific area should attend over work done by others for reasons of safety and liability.
-A document needed to complete the setup of a Society bank account was delivered to the Credit Union.

Future meetups and official meetings will be announced beforehand to members and the public. Posters, word of mouth, phone calls and a banner on the landing page of this website will announce any events.
